Introductory seminar on FPGAs

Hannes Sakulin, CERN Dinyar Rabady, CERN

14:00-16:30, hephy, Bibliothek, Nikolsdorfergasse 18, 1050 Wien

Our former HEPHY colleagues Hannes Sakulin and Dinyar Rabady will make presentations, and there is ample time foreseen for discussion as well as questions and answers. The seminar is specially intended for physicists, whether they work on data analysis or activities closer to hardware. As FPGAs are nowadays used in many areas of technology and in particular in all particle physics experiments, a basic understanding of how they work and which possibilities they offer will help you to comprehend an experiment's operation and to develop its physics potential.
