Current Experiments

The CMS Experiment ist one of the four major experiments at the particle accelerator LHC at CERN near Geneva.

Out Institute participates in CMS with three project groups:

* Analyse
* Inner Tracker
* Trigger

The BELLE Experiment located at the research center KEK (Japan) confirmed predictions that have been awarded the Nobel Prize in 2008. It is being upgraded to Belle II until 2014.

Our Institute participates at Belle since 2001 and has taken large responsibility for the Belle II upgrade.

Future Projects

The International Linear Collider is the next large, international accelerator project for an era after LHC.

Our Institute has joined the preparations for this project already with our ILC Project.

Previous Experiments

Until 2008, our Institute had a project contributing to the DELPHI Experiment, which was installed at the accelerator LEP at CERN (Geneva).

Until 2004, our Institute took part in the NA48 Experiment located at the SPS-accelerator at CERN (Geneva).

The UA1 Experiment at the SPS (CERN, Geneva) was the first large experiment to which our Institute contributed.
