Calorimeter Trigger Readout

Regional calorimeter trigger input data

2 x 8 bit compressed ET

2 x 1 bit finegrain profile information

5 bit error detection code for every pair of trigger towers

1 bit BC0

------------

24 bits total

------------

This information is available for each trigger tower and is readout from TPG crates. The total number of channels is given by (18 Crates x 7 Receiver cards x 8 RC mezzanine cards x 4 links) + (18 Crates x 1 Jet/Summary Card x 4 links) 4104.

Data size = 4104 x 24 = 98496 bits

Regional calorimeter trigger output

This data will be available from the global calorimeter trigger cards assuming that the GCT does the clustering of jets.

  1. Top 4 isolated electrons (each with 6 bit rank and 4 bit position) from each of 18 crates
  2. Top 4 non-isolated electrons (each with 6 bit rank and 4 bit position) from each of 18 crates
  3. 2 bits muon information (MIP and quiet bits) from each region (18 x 7 x 2 = 252 regions)
  4. 11 bits ET information from each region (252 regions)
  5. 9 bits from each HF region (18 x 4 x 2 HF =144)

Data size = 6012 bits
