This measurement setup allows a simultaneous longtime dark current measurement of 10 CMS silicon strip sensors at room temperature. The measurement box is filled with nitrogen to reduce the humidity. During the measurment the temperature and the humidity are permanently monitored. |
Updates:

This setup is used 10 times in parallel with 1 SMU and a scanning
Voltmeter, which allows a parallel measurement of 40 channels.

Description of the Instruments:
This plot shows a first test measurement of the setup. Four sensors have been
measured. All these sensors have a very low and constant dark current over the
whole measurement time of 112 h (4.5 days).
This can only be achieved by a uniform temperature distribution (+/- 1°C)
during the measurment and a decrease of the humidity in the test box.
This has been done by the help of nitrogen gas, which was filled in the box
at the measurement start to lower it to 10%. Because of leaky components the
humidity increases exponentially after the gas supply has stopped. It reaches
30% (which is the limit) after approx. 24 h and has to be refilled. This can
be seen in the plot below.
